Bras d'Or Yacht Club recognizes and values the importance of contributing to the development of good people as well as good sailors. Below is a copy of the LTS contract that both the student and guardian must review and will be asked to sign on the first day of the program. Other terms and conditions are included below the contract. Bras d" Or Yacht Club LEARN to SAIL CONTRACT In signing this agreement, I recognize that becoming a member of the Bras d'Or Yacht Club Learn to Sail Program is a privilege, not a right. During the sailing hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., including a 1/2 hour lunch, as a student of the program, I will respect all employees, fellow students, property, and areas of the club. If an instructor or employee deems my behavior inappropriate, or I am responsible for the negligent loss or damage of yacht club property or equipment, I will be responsible for repair or replacement costs and accountability for inappropriate behavior will be on a three-strike system. 1) I will be issued a warning, including a phone call made to my parent(s) or guardian. 2) If the inappropriate behavior continues, I will then be suspended from the grounds and the sailing program for one day. My parent(s) or guardian will be called to pick me up and they will be expected to get me, regardless of any other commitment. I am responsible for my own behavior and will have to deal with the consequences of inconveniencing my parents. 3) A third episode of inappropriate behavior will result in my suspension from the sailing program for the rest of the season, without refund of registration fees, regardless of how much of the session I have completed. Priority for spots in each session will be given to those who pay session fee at time of registration. 2. Club boats for Regatta Week will be equally available to all junior sailors regardless of session attended. 3. Each student must provide their own Canadian Dept. of Transportation or Canadian Coast Guard Approved PFD or Life Jacket. 4. No student will be able to start the junior sailing program until their registration dues have been paid in full and the Learn to Sail School Contract has been signed by both junior sailor and his/her parent(s)/guardian. 5. Membership dues for club members must be paid prior to registration to qualify for the members early registration. 7. There will be NO registration fee refund for any cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the start of a session. There will be a 5% administration for refunds.
